Everything You Need to Break Your Fast in a Healthy Way

After a long day of fasting, this nutritious date bar has everything your body needs to replenish energy stores. Healthy date sugars combined with filling nuts and granola and fortified with coconut oil give your body and brain an instant boost.

  • 1 ½ cup dates
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup almonds
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • ½ cup Rude Health Granola
  • 1 tbsp. rose water
  • Tahini – black or white
  • ½ packet of SOIL’s own coconut chips
Step 1
  • Soak the dates in warm water in order for them to soften before blending
  • Whilst the dates are soaking, roughly chop all the nuts
Step 2
  • Add the drained dates and coconut oil to a food processor and blend until smooth
Step 3
  • Add the blended dates to a mixing bowl
  • Add the rose water for some beautiful fragrance
  • Add all of the nuts
  • Add the granola
  • Mix all together
Step 4
  • Line a baking tin with baking paper
  • Add the mixture to the tin and press down to a thickness of 2-3 cm
Step 5
    • Sprinkle on the coconut chips and lightly press until they are firmly stuck to the top of the bar
    • Drizzle on some tahini, or if you have more of a sweet tooth, some of the 3 ingredient chocolate sauce from one of my previous recipe posts
Step 6
      • Place in the freezer for 1 hour at least before removing to cut into bar sized slices
      • Enjoy!
